for everyone

Colombia is one of my favourite countries in South America, not so much because of the sceneries, but because of the immensely friendly people. On nearly every minibus or taxi I hopped into, I would find the driver or conductor engaging in friendly curious banter with me. Random strangers smiled and offered help everywhere.

Parque Nacional Tayrona must be one of the BEST beaches I had ever come across, with all these stunning huge rocks strewn all over... Cartagena is colourfully colonial, a living museum... Medellin is just a art-lover's delight, with amazing public sculptures and interesting architecture everywhere... Bogota is also a gorgeous city, I was honestly amazed at how beautiful and creative brick building can be. My stay there was made even more superb because of the wonderful host family I had, who took great care of me in every way. Popayan and Pasto are charming towns as well.

As crimes are rife, I kept my SLR camera hidden, and sadly, used my idiot's camera for most part of the trip. Well, despite the unfortunate, awful photos, I hope to showcase how beautiful Colombia is and how artistically engaging Cartagena, Medellin and Bogota are with the huge numbers of sculptures and stunning architecture everywhere.

Special thanks to Valery, Masami, Helena, Bleidee, Angela for sharing the lovely little hike in Tayrona with me, and to Andrea, Claudia, Santiago, Dignora, Lina, Herman, Jaime, Felipe, H's Mama and Abuelita for saturating me with the unbeatable Colombian hospitality!!
