| | I lived 2 months in Buenos Aires in 2002 and studied Spanish in a school there. The beautiful city with the highly-intellectual and emotive culture touched me deeply. I grew to love the city and the people so much and feel so comfortable there that I call Buenos Aires my second home.
After Christmas, I travelled to the very south of Argentina - Ushuaia and slowly headed up to the glacier region around Calafate, El Chalten, before stopping by the wine region of Mendoza and making my way to the northern somewhat Andean towns of Cachi, Humahuaca, Tilcara, Iruya, and through the spectacular canyons, highlands and salt-pan near Salta.
In 2005, I returned again to Mi Buenos Aires Querido to visit my old friends and meet new ones. I thoroughly love it here, great literary culture, tonnes of activities happening in the city, highly creative handicraft fairs... I felt absolutely at home. Only when I forced myself to leave Buenos Aires did I feel my journey actually begin. On my return, I dropped by Mendoza, Cordoba, Mar del Plata before returning to Buenos Aires again for Christmas and New Year.
Special thanks to Pablo, Natalia and families... truly my BEST friends, to Claudia, Claudio, Leo, Raquel and Nadia for hosting me, to Anabel, Diego, Sabrina, Carla, Dario, Cintia, Rodrigo for spending time with me, exchanging a few laughs and for making me feel so welcome and so comfortable in their gorgeous country!! |
